Sometimes, you may asked yourself whether you prefer sunrise or sunset? To me, the decision may indicate what kind of personality you have. Personally, I like sunrise but in reality, I experienced sunset more.
I've been to few places around the world in the past few years and managed to experience exciting sunrises (which I need to wake-up very early, ha ha ha ...) & several sunsets. Capturing the image of the sun is also a wonderful feel for me. It's like you are just beside the sun yet; you don't feel the hear. He he he ..... Hope you'll enjoy it.......
Sunrise @ Cancun, Mexico
<Carribean Sea : 2009>
Cancun... Oh Cancun... An exquisite and beautiful beach on the Carribean Sea. It's a real paradise to me. Watching sunrise here is so mesmerizing as you laid down on the white sandy beach while waiting for the new hope to come up. Though the sky was rather cloudy on that day, the sun is still so beautiful that it created nice shadows behind the dark clouds. A breezy mornig too...
Sunset @ Kata Beach, Phuket, Thailand
<Andaman Sea : 2008>
This was an unexpected experience that I encountered. My wife and myself were on holidays in Phuket. We stayed in Diamond Cottage Resort & Spa in Karon Beach (out of the hassle & bustle of Patong). From the hotel, it's just a short walk to the lovely Kata Beach. We never planned for a sunset view; but it just so happened that we were there and able to witness it. Out of my surprise, the sunset was so BEAUTIFUL...
The sky is red with the big Sun in front of us; waiting to go under the beautiful Andaman Sea. At the same time, there is a guy kayaking in the open ocean; making it a great sight of the person in front of the big sun. So, probably, he has a nicer view of the sunset. Well, how do I know if the person is a guy or gal? I just guess by looking at the photo I took. I wish I'm that person BUT I know it won't happen as I'm afraid to kayak out the open ocean. Ha ha ha ....... Anyway, I still have a great sunset view from the clean and breezy Kata Beach .........
Sunset @ Oia, Santorini, Greece
Oia is pronounce as "Ia" in Greek. It's about 45 min. to an hr by bus from Fira in the "To-Die-For" Santorini Island of Greece. According to most travel review, this place is famous for a dramatic sunset view in Santorini. So, I brought my wife to this place to see the sunset. Well, it's so worth it. Its romantic and beautiful; especially with churches and bells as the background of the sunset.
Sunset @ Fira, Santorini, Greece
<Aegean Sea : 2006>
Fira is the central of Santorini. Most businesses and nightlife is in Fira. So, since we were in Fira for sighseeing, we would like to try out the sunset view from Fira after our first day view @ Oia. It's not too bad either. Beautiful sky with a clear sun. Well, there are many people stand-by to watch sunset is Fira as well; though not as many as in Oia.
Sunset @ Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia
<Andaman Sea : 2004>
I had this sunset view while we had our beach front seafood dinner @ Cenang Beach, Langkawi. Nice clouds along the beautiful sunset.
Sunset @ Tanah Lot, Bali, Indonesia
<Indian Ocean : 2003>
Tanah Lot is famous for it's temple. So, watching sunset from the open sea beside the temple is a good experince too. To have a better view of the sunset; you've to climb to the higher side of the temple or the small mountain near to the temple.
Sunrise @ Mt Bromo, Indonesia
<Volcano : 2003>
Wake up early; 3.30am and take a 15-20 min.s taxi (shared with someone else) to a station of Mt Bromo. If you can't get someone to share the taxi with you; it'll be quite expensive. Otherwise, you can walk but it take some time. There are many people waiting at the top to watch the sunrise from the opposite volcano; with sea cloud under the volcano. Great experience; though sleepy ........ Double thumbs up !!!
Sunset @ Ponce, Puerto Rico, USA
<Carribean Sea, 2002>
Ponce has a quiet and calm beach. Watching sunset is so relaxing here ...
Sunset @ Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
<Pacific Ocean : 2002>
Take a catamaran (US$10-15/pax) out to the Pacific Ocean and see the sunset. It definitely worth it.
Well, what do you think? Every experience has its own beauty and wonders to me. I'm amazed in each and every of the experiences. Hope you'll have your experience as well.
