A stroll in Sydney

I had a day off in Sydney; so, managed to walk around the adverse city. Bein stay in Manly Beach area, it is always refreshing to see the beach first day in the morning.

I noticed a boy playing with sand on the beach. He seems want to try out a sand massage and cover himself with the sand but unsure of wanted to do that. So, probably, he tried on his leg first.

Manly has a beautiful and clean beach with moderately high wave; good for surfing. Unfortunately, I’m not a surfer. Nevertheless, sitting by a beach side restaurant and have breakfast is not a too bad idea. I ordered porridge for breakfast. But it seems that the definition of porridge is different here. Instead of rice, they use oatmeal with banana and raisins. First few sips are fine but later; hmm……. Probably, not really my taste. However, the hot chocolate was good.

This is the porridge ...

From Manly wharf, you can take a ferry to Sydney Centre (1/2 hr). I bought the day pass (AUD 16) that you can use in all the Sydney local transportation (ferry, train, and bus). Unfortunately, taxi is not included. Ha ha ha…….

The journey from Manly to Sydney was quite good with reasonable refreshing wind blowing as I’m sitting in the front of the ferry. A little bit cold though. But the views along the way to Sydney was good.

Before reaching Sydney, you will be able to see the beautiful Sydney skyline view; with the Harbour Bridge on your right and the wonderful Opera House on your left. Managed to see few people on the Harbour Bridge too. Kind of interesting.

Those ppl are on the bridge ... Cost AUD 65 to go up there

Upon reaching Sydney, you’ll be at the Circular Quay. From there, I took a connecting ferry to Watson’s Bay. This place is famous for fish and chip. Price at about AUD 12. I didn’t try it since I’m not hungry yet. But later, heard from my friend, it’s not really that special for that price. So, luckily never try it. I went up the hill to watch some great cliff’s view. The blue and turquoise water below is so beautiful; that you may think to jump into it. Probably that’s the reason why there is a barrier along the cliff.

There are some beautiful flowers on the hill too. And the view from the hillAdd Image is quite good too.

From Watson’s Bay, I took a bus back to Circular Quay in order to see the other town views. Back in CQ; managed to see an aboriginal guy playing the long instrument (don’t know what it is called).

Then, I took another ferry to the Darling Harbor. The ferry first stopped at Luna Park; an amusement park. It looks interesting.

It took about ½ hr to reach DH. This place fills with harbor view restaurants, entertainment outlets, and hotels. The wildlife centre is here too.

From DH, there is about 15 min. nice walk to Chinatown; through a relax garden. There’s a Chinese Garden along the way too.

From Chinatown, I took a bus back to CQ to catch a ferry back to Manly. While waiting for the ferry, I bought a pack of French fries (AUD 3). Then, I asked for a tomato sauce. It costs AUD 0.5 for that. It was quite a surprise that you need to pay for the tomato sauce too here. But, you’ve no choice. It’s either you eat it plain or pay that extra AUD 0.5. It’s not that bad though.

There goes my ½ day trip in Sydney. It was nice to stroll around the city and taking the ferry and bus along the ways. Why not you !!!!!!!!!!
